The Centre for Business Dynamics, as commercial unit of the School, was founded in January 2004 and offers certificate programmes:
- Management and Leadership Programmes
- Executive Programmes
- Short Certificate Programmes
The Centre is also in partnership with the Arbinger Institute in the US and offers “The Choice” (Leadership & Self-Deception) and“World Class Leadership” training in SA. The Centre is also establishing itself as a leader in ways to preserve, manage and preserve institutional memory.
Lastly, but not insignificantly, we also offer three very unique leadership programmes:
• Leadership in the connection economy
• Creating leadership and personal capacity in women
• Leading - a programme for Executives
We were the first institution in the country to offer a leadership programme dedicated to women and the success of the programme is evident in the number of institutions and organisations in the country that have enrolled students.

Danie Jacobs completed his B.Soc.Sc, B.Soc.Sc (Honns), M.Soc.Sc, M.Ed, and MBA degrees at the University of the Free State. He founded the Centre for Business Dynamics, commercial unit of the Business School at the University of the Free State and also started ILSC (Pty) Ltd, a consulting firm, that specialises in strategic positioning of business models and change management. Danie acts as organisational change and strategic positioning facilitator at various companies and public sector institutions. He also lectures ‘Leading Innovation and Change’ within the MBA programme. |
